Faculty of Arts
Summary
The Faculty of Arts encompasses the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Visual and Performing Arts, and continues to expand the services offered in the Arts since first established at Canterbury College in 1873. The Faculty of Arts offers a number of diverse academic programmes in the areas of Arts, Education, Fine Arts, History, Journalism, Languages, Music, Social Sciences and Social Work, and provides excellence in teaching and research by highly trained and motivated staff, in over forty disciplines. The Faculty of Arts office opened in January 2004 and is situated in the newly refurbished ground floor of the History Building . We are very privileged to display in our offices, art work on loan from students and staff of our prestigious School of Fine Arts . The Faculty office comprises a team of professional, welcoming and enthusiastic staff who provide high quality service to students and staff of the University of Canterbury.
