Welcome to the School of Māori, Social and Cultural Studies in Education. Our school offers initial teacher education, professional development and Masters courses related to Māori language and protocol; bilingual and immersion education; treaty education; social sciences, including social studies, history, geography and classical studies; cultural studies; multicultural studies; international languages and teaching English to speakers of other languages; early years education.

Our staff work across a range of teacher education programmes from early childhood through to primary, secondary, graduate and postgraduate courses. Many of our staff are curriculum leaders with national profiles and they maintain strong links with early childhood centres, schools and the wider education sector. Their research involvements span these sectors and areas of interest.
