High Value Manufacturing

Research Group Summary

The objective of the High Value Manufacturing group is to undertake research, science and technology that will enable the development of new technologies, novel materials and new products, processes and services. This is worth doing for the potential to develop new emergent industries, and add value to existing industries. The particular focus is flexible, short run, high value manufacturing processes in the New Zealand context.

The group looks at (1) developing specific new manufacturing technology, (2) optimising industry-specific manufacturing processes on a case-by-case basis, and (3) developing new idea, methods and tools for high value manufacturing generally.
