Geophysical Applications
Research Group Summary
In addition to the geophysical projects carried out under the Active Tectonics, Engineering Geology, Geoarchaeology, Hazards and Paleoclimate programmes, geophysical research is also done for:
• mapping of bedrock topography;
• hydrogeology, especially imaging of vadose (unsaturated) zone processes;
• glaciology, particularly glacier thickness and internal structure; and
• hydrology, especially remote determination of river depth and bed morphology.
