Project Abstract

This project examines the origins of the observed high mechanical damping behaviour of natural fibre reinforced composites. In this work, the damping capacity of plant fibre composites is found to be due to the chemical composition and reversible interactions enabled by the breaking and reforming of hydrogen bonds under stress.
