Project Abstract

The Ministry of Education’s Literacy Strategy is most notably concerned with improving achievement in literacy at all levels of New Zealand’s education system. Years 7-8 students’ literacy achievement has been identified as an area of concern and this project aims to investigate current practices, identify examples of good practice and promote professional development opportunities for teachers based on the project’s research findings.
