Project Abstract

These Curriculum Exemplars will help meet the learning, teaching and assessment needs of children and students with significant learning challenges, i.e. learners with high and very high learning needs who are working long term within Level 1 of the NZ Curriculum. The exemplars use and explain narrative assessment as a tool to support teachers in noticing, documenting, and reporting student learning in ways that are meaningful for students, their families, and educators. The exemplars will reflect meaningful, relevant and age-appropriate learning for Primary through to Secondary aged students. The exemplars focus particularly on assessment of the key competencies within the context of the learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum.
