Project Abstract
The Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand has developed a new set of draft professional teaching standards. This report comments on the trialling of these draft standards in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and examines their fitness for purpose. The research used surveys and focus groups to examine teacher educator and student teacher understandings of, and engagement with, the draft standards.
