Project Abstract

Understanding Place is a digital cultural mapping project that focuses on peoples' experiences of place and the landscape in Christchurch's Flat Land Residential Red Zone. It involves two main digital components: a web-based map interface through which contributors can upload geo-located content (photographs, videos, audio recordings, text), and a digital archive that stores this content long-term.
