Stories hold memory, feeling, and shape our perceptions of the world and our experiences. My research interest is in surfacing the stories we hold about ourselves, others and the world around us. Attributed to Socrates is the famous aphorism: "The unexamined life is not worth living." The corollary to that of course is that the unexamined life imposed upon other lives (ie. children) is reason for concern indeed. Thus, my passion is in working with students, and on projects that seek to find both a personal and a critical language for the experiences of self in their personal educational experiences, or their professional lives, and to introduce ways in which these stories can be understood, disrupted if necessary and re-storied.
