Researcher Summary
Mobile and personal communications at the physical and data link layers: adaptive antenna arrays; integrated DSP/RF design for new transceiver architectures; linearization of RF amplifiers; coding, modulation and protocols.
Projects in recent years have included: adaptive feedforward linearization and adaptive digital predistortion for the power amplifiers used in PCS radio transceivers; adaptive antenna arrays for increasing system capacity and for locating mobiles; use of diversity for synchronization in fading channels; multiuser detection of cochannel signals.
