I am interested in changes to the speech signal that occur in neurological speech disorders, collectively known as dysarthria. Dysarthria affects the control and execution of muscle movements required for speech production and can significantly reduce a speaker’s intelligibility. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the way clinicians assess and classify dysarthria, and the effects of different behavioural modifications used in speech therapy.
