Researcher Summary
Brian's research focuses on applying information technologies to improve various dimensions of construction project performance, including health and safety, progress monitoring, and human-robot collaboration. He is also interested in building energy research, LCA, and carbon reduction. Brian has secured more than NZ$770K research funds in different research roles.
My current funded projects include:
1. Simulation-based multi-objective optimisation of school building energy retrofit considering lifecycle cost, lifecycle assessment, energy consumption, and thermal comfort (funded by BRANZ and BIP)
2. VR-based situation awareness in human-robot collaboration (funded by Royal Society New Zealand)
3. Improving situation awareness to achieve zero-harm construction sites (FOE Strategic Research Grant)
