Researcher Summary
My major research interests are traffic management and Control, traffic-flow theory, connected and autonomous traffic systems. I have involved in numerous research projects, including traffic signal control, real-time data surveillance and mining algorithms, car-following models, transport optimizations, traffic guidance and road marking, preliminary feasibility studies on transport infrastructure, stochastic system modeling, and intelligent transportation systems. In the course of my research, I have applied approaches, involving empirical survey, traffic simulation, data recursive process, mathematical programs, and stochastic differential equations. I have almost 30 publications in top-ranking journals, peer-reviewed conference proceedings and presentations. I have served as the reviewers for international journals, including Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Transportmetrica A: Transport Science, International Journal of Sustainable Transportation, Journal of Advanced Transportation, and The IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics. Moreover, I have been a researcher of 17 funded research and consultancy projects in Korea, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.
