Researcher Summary

My research concentrates on the use of data-driven methods and emerging technologies to enhance the safety, resilience, and efficiency of transportation systems. My recent and ongoing efforts include safety analytics using big data, Bayesian spatiotemporal modelling, connected and autonomous vehicles for crash prevention, machine learning with applications in transportation, causal inference for evaluation of safety treatments, data-driven emergency management. My research outcomes have been highlighted by prestigious research awards such as IEEE ITSS Best Dissertation Award, CUTC Milton Pikarsky Award and Transportation Research Board (TRB) Best Paper Award.
