My research focusses on the interactions between different ideas of property, including the notion of equitable property rights, the interactions of Common Law, Civil Law and Indigenous property law in multi-jural or mixed legal systems, the importance of property law in related areas such as insolvency law, restitution, or secured transaction law, and the theory of property law. In the context of these issues, I research on private international law or conflict of laws questions and comparative private law in general as well.

Subject Area: Disciplines

  • Law: Business and Commercial Law; Comparative Law; International Law; Legal History; Legal Theory and Jurisprudence; Property and Intellectual Property Law; Treaty Of Waitangi and the Law Relating to Indigenous Peoples
