Greetings everyone, I am from the Bay of Plenty region and teaching at the Faculty of Law, as Senior Lecturer. I'm an academic lawyer practising in general law, primarily in Māori Land Law and have appeared in the Māori Land Court, District Court and Family Court. I'm passionate about legal education and bringing my cultural, legal, communication and practice skills into the classroom.
My research interest areas in the context of land law, Māori land law, disputes resolution and environmental law, include:
• exploring and analysing the law relative to Indigenous Peoples;
• exploring the impacts of the law relative to Indigenous Peoples;
• exploring potential solutions to Indigenous legal issues; and
• implementation of legal tools/models to empower Indigenous
Peoples.
I love what I do and value professional relationships to empower people with knowledge, through support and sharing of information.
