Researcher Summary
For almost 20 years, Rachel Maitland (Ngāi Tahu) was a teacher and head of department in alternative education (AE), and a teacher and assistant principal in a decile one, state school delivering education to young people in state care. Rachel was based at a campus located within a Youth Justice facility. Her research focuses on educational opportunity and access for at-risk learners.
